The Sprout Pencil, made of certified birch wood, has a biodegradable capsule at the end, containing peat and organic seeds that germinate in contact with water. When it becomes too short to be used, it can be planted thus giving life to a seedling. The pencil can be left in the jar as a label, or removed entirely once the capsule has biodegraded. The product is designed at the end of its life in such a way as to create a new one: a map is born from a pencil.
